Inside the Salle de Musique de Chambre, Luxembourg City 🇱🇺 - Grande-Duchesse Joséphine-Charlotte

#concerthall #philharmonie #luxembourg Salle de Musique de Chambre, Luxembourg City 🇱🇺 Grande-Duchesse Joséphine-Charlotte Concert Hall "After the Grand Auditorium, we move on to the chamber music hall (Salle de Musique de Chambre). Located at the heart of the building, its layout conveying the intimacy of a cocoon. Its ceiling, decorated with the signs of the zodiac, points to the many mysteries of the universe." - https://lnkd.in/dNYrsszH "With its elegantly curved walls, starry ceiling and crimson carpets, the Salle de Musique de Chambre is a real cocoon complete with an intimate stage and around 300 seats. Capacity 313 places and 3 additional seats for disabled persons Stage Surface: 80 m² Dimensions (height x length x width): 9 m x 10,5 m x 12 m" - https://lnkd.in/dB8gamCU "In contrast to the large Grand Auditorium, the Salle de Musique de Chambre (Chamber Music Hall) provides a more intimate setting for up to 300 listeners. In this room, curved walls reminiscent of a petal and a sound reflector above the stage maintain the sound quality." - https://lnkd.in/dMW-MWbg "The shape of the hall, nestling against the elliptical main building like a leaf, with seating for 300, is conditioned by particular acoustic requirements. Inside the Große Sendesaal in Haus des Rundfunks - RBB - Berlin - Germany - Walking Tour

#concerthall #berlin #walkingtour Der Große Sendesaal im Haus des Rundfunks, Berlin, Germany 🇩🇪 "Leonard Bernstein, the Berlin Philharmonic, and Ingo Metzmacher with the German Symphony Orchestra have performed here, as have Gianna Nannini, Adam Green, and Norah Jones: Since 1931, the legendary Great Broadcasting Hall of the Haus des Rundfunks (Broadcasting House) has hosted top-class recordings and outstanding concert events. This makes the 1,300-square-meter radio studio not only one of the largest in Europe, but also the oldest of its kind. The rbb (Berlin-Brandenburg Broadcasting) and its radio programs use the Great Broadcasting Hall for a wide variety of music productions. In addition, the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin (RSB) regularly rehearses here. This is part of the rbb's cultural commitment as a shareholder of Berliner roc GmbH. The hall boasts a fascinating interior design dating from 1959. Its theatrical layout, with its rising parquet floor and widened gallery opposite a terraced stage, meets the acoustic requirements of both a radio studio and a concert hall. Box-shaped scattering and absorption bodies on the elm-veneered hall walls, as well as reflector sails suspended above the stage, achieve a diffuse reverberation." - https://lnkd.in/dQu9vZvs "The House of Broadcasting in Berlin-Charlottenburg is one of the oldest broadcasting buildings in Europe. Its striking facade is a prominent feature of Masurenallee. Architect Hans Poelzig's design for the broadcasting building won a competition against two other entries, and in 1929 he was commissioned to construct the new broadcasting facility. When it opened in January 1931, it was clear that the building made a distinctive architectural statement. Its unusual triangular shape is derived from its function. Poelzig placed the three large broadcasting studios in the center and shielded them from street noise with surrounding office buildings. This also created a total of four courtyards." - https://lnkd.in/dqKeV6tc "Large Broadcasting Hall The Great Broadcasting Hall is the heart of the building. Its dimensions are: 47.5 m long, 25.3 to 33.8 m wide and up to 12 m high. ... A special feature was the ability to create "different room acoustics depending on the nature of the performance" by means of "rotating panels, which run the entire height of the wall at a width of 1 m." Behind a "large opening in the fourth, shorter end wall, [a space was] provided for an organ to be installed later." This organ, built by Friedrich Weigle, was already under construction at that time.

- https://secult.salvador.ba.gov.br/cidade-da-musica-da-bahia/ --- 📍 Location: https://guitars4rl-map.blogspot.com/ 🔗 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-sound-travels/ Enjoyed the video? inside the Cathédrale Saint-Paul de Liège, Belgium 🇧🇪 - Places of Worship - Walking Tour

Cathédrale Saint-Paul de Liège, Belgium 🇧🇪 "The Saint Paul’s church was founded under the episcopate of Eracle at the end of the 10th century. Its reconstruction in Gothic style commenced in the 13th century. At the end of the 14th century, almost the entire church was rebuilt, except for the cloisters, which were erected between the 15th and 16th century, as well as the tower. Indeed, the work on the tower commenced at the end of the 14th century, but it was still not complete when the Revolution of 1789 occurred. In 1803, with the cathedral of Notre-Dame-et-Saint-Lambert lying in ruins, the Saint Paul’s church was given the status of cathedral following the Concordate. It was shortly after this event that the bell tower was completed. Its shape is evocative of its counterpart on the now disappeared Cathedral of Notre-Dame-et-Saint-Lambert. The church boasts many remarkable works, including its 16th-century stained glass windows or also the magnificent Reclining Christ by Jean Del Cour dating from 1696. The interest of the cathedral is not limited to the church alone, the cloisters are also worth a visit. In addition to many tombstones, including those of formerPrince-Bishops, it also houses the Treasure house of Liège." - https://lnkd.in/dYW4rwuk "During the 19th century, Saint Paul's Cathedral was enlarged and furnished in the Neo-Gothic style. It was in this context that Merklin-Schütze delivered, in 1870, a new organ intended for a chamber built between the south transept and the south aisle. The organ's specification includes 30 stops (III-P), but it was built with 7 borrowed stops, bringing the actual number of stops to 23. It is therefore more of a choir organ than a grand organ (at that time, the Le Picard organ still stood at the back of the cathedral). The sound of the Great Organ, Positive, and Pedal is primarily projected through the tracery opening into the south aisle, above the inverted console. The sound of the Swell Organ is projected into the south transept through a neo-Gothic case adorned with dummy pipes. A Barker lever operates the Great Organ and its couplers, while a second lever operates the Positive. In 1922, Émile II Kerkhoff (Brussels) installed an electric blower. Around 1950, Joseph and Oscar Reygaert (Grammont) carried out various works. Subsequently, the instrument was dismantled and then reassembled by Victor Van de Loo (Leuven) during the restoration of the cathedral. In 1974, Jos. Loncke (Esen) recomposed the Great Organ Mixture. In 1986, the Thomas Organ Workshop (Francorchamps) undertook a major overhaul. The Barker lever of the Positif division and the primary reservoir pipes have recently been re-leathered." - https://lnkd.in/dZfvXjiY #acoustics #architecture #audio #audioengineering #organ #worship #cathedral #immersiveaudio #signalprocessing Steffens Systems GmbH #belgium #sounddesign #soundsystem #loudspeakers --- 📍 Location: https://guitars4rl-map.blogspot.com/ 🔗 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-sound-travels/ Enjoyed the video? An Evening with Eric Sardinas at the Museumskeller Erfurt, Germany - Midnight Junction Tour

Raised in a musically formative environment, Sardinas was drawn to the power and raw emotionality of the blues from a young age, drawing inspiration from a melting pot of musical influences that would shape his own unique sound. The 1990s marked a turning point for Sardinas when he moved to Los Angeles, a city brimming with musical opportunity. There, he formed his band, Eric Sardinas & Big Motor, and began attracting the attention of industry insiders with his explosive live shows and charismatic stage presence. In 1999, Sardinas released his debut album, "Treat Me Right," on the legendary blues label Evidence Music. The album was a revelation—a rousing blend of traditional Delta blues, gospel, and hard boogie, carried by Sardinas' virtuoso slide guitar and his raw, soulful voice. Critics praised his ability to honor the roots of the blues while injecting a modern, high-energy energy that appealed to both purists and new generations of listeners. Songs like "Rollin' and Tumblin'" and "Murdered by Love" showcased his technical mastery and emotional depth. The album's success catapulted Sardinas into the international spotlight. He began touring tirelessly, performing in clubs, theaters, and festivals across North America, Europe, and Asia. His energetic performances—often featuring his trademark guitar fire during the climax of a show—earned him a reputation as one of the most thrilling live acts in blues-rock. Throughout the 2000s and beyond, Eric Sardinas continued to build on his early success, releasing a series of acclaimed albums that showcased his growth as a musician and songwriter. Notable albums include "Devil's Train" (2001), "Black Pearls" (2003), "Eric Sardinas and Big Motor" (2008), and "Sticks & Stones" (2011). Eric Sardinas continues to tour and record albums, bringing his trademark brand of high-energy blues-rock to audiences around the world. He remains a fixture at blues festivals and clubs, revered for his authenticity and tireless pursuit of musical excellence. His 2014 album "Boomerang" demonstrated that, decades into his career, Sardinas still possesses the drive and creativity that distinguished him as a young artist. Eric Sardinas' latest album, "Midnight Junction," is a testament to his enduring talent and passion for blues-rock music. Released on October 13, 2023, the album blends blues tradition with rock energy, showcasing Sardinas' signature slide guitar skills and soulful vocals. The album includes the single "Long Shot," which has already captivated fans and rock lovers alike." - https://tinyurl.com/3d6xpsbp "Eric Sardinas “I play slide, I play blues, but it's rock’n’roll that I interpret in my own way.” When it comes to blues-rock, there's sometimes an implication that blues musicians are compromising their art for financial gain or that rock bands are exploiting blues-inspired elements without fully comprehending the genre’s deep historical roots. That is certainly not the case with Eric Sardinas. At six, he is said to hold a guitar in his hands for the first time, falling in love with the origins of blues, as it “was the thrill of hearing one person playing the guitar and generating the energy of five – I loved the sheer strength and heart of a single player.” In his early years he moved around his homeland USA, landing in Los Angeles in 1990. Like the early blues folk, he played acoustic for a living on the street and in small pubs, attracting attention not only for his distinctive guitar playing and eye-catching appearance, but also for his wild antics on stage, often jumping off amplifiers and playing guitar with his teeth if he has not already set it on fire before – striking enough to convince Steve Vai, who offered him a record deal. Sardinas also supported Vai on two world tours and shared the stage with Joe Satriani at his famous G3 concerts. Eric Sardinas focuses exclusively on slide guitar, using his beloved Dobros (guitars with mechanical resonators invented in the 1920s to increase their volume), which he converted to play electrically. If you now think that his latest album “Midnight Junction” is for blues fanatics and guitar racers, you're certainly right. But the other side of the truth is: The music on “Midnight Junction” speaks to a much wider audience. Eric and his band create rock songs that are simply fun to listen to! The bar uniqueness is in it’s nightly live jam-sessions, which are believed by the owners of the bar to be most interesting and lively thing in jazz. We don’t have “special guests” here, as we don’t have gigs schedule. But if one asks, what will be tomorrow, he’ll get a firm & constant answer – “there will be jazz”! We’re trying to fill that space in between a regular bar, where you just come to hang out, have a drink, meet people and a jazz club, where you go to enjoy live music. We’re very happy, that we can give jazz musicians the opportunity to create music together. You’re always welcome to join the sessions, in coordination with a jam host at the place." - https://thehatbar.de/jazz/ "Get together in a relaxed atmosphere, have a drink, chat, have fun and, of course, listen to jazz - that's the concept behind The Hat. Opposite the Theater des Westens, it shines invitingly under one of the S-Bahn arches. The Hat jazz bar has been located here since 2015. The model for it is in St. Petersburg. There, a casual bar called Schljapa, the Hat, was so successful that Michael Shpaizman and his colleagues planted the offshoot in Berlin. When looking for a suitable location for his jazz bar, one criterion was particularly important to Shpaizman: no noise-sensitive neighbours. He found what he was looking for at the Lotte-Lenya-Bogen under the S-Bahn. The brick-built tunnel with its large exterior windows is classically lined with a long bar. Spirits crowd and pile up in front of mirrored wall elements. The small stage is located opposite the bar in a niche in the wall. ... Daily live music with free admission Secondly, live music is played here every day - and admission is free. The Hat focuses on informal jam sessions. Only the session host is fixed at first. Who then joins in and what happens musically makes every jam evening an exciting and unique experience. It has happened that musicians who have just given a concert at Quasimodo turn up late at night for a jam session at The Hat. Because the nights here are long. "Sometimes it doesn't really get going until 1 a.m." reports Michael Shpaizman in an interview." - https://www.visitberlin.de/en/hat-jazz-bar-berlin "About The Hat Bar Since opening in August 2015, The Hat Bar Berlin continues the tradition of it’s older brother and namesake in St.Petersburg – to be the perfect bar for the night offering the perfect drink and the perfect place for jazz lovers. You can hang out with friends, have a drink in good company or enjoy it on your own. We are proud to attract all kinds of people from all over the world. Everyone is welcome who appreciates a special evening. Every day of the week, at 9pm, our jam session kicks off with a changing trio of the best jazz musicians from Berlin and around the world. The Hat is the place for any jazz man or woman who wants to stretch a little. And it doesn’t matter if you speak German or not, there’s always a more rich language present – the one of jazz. Come on then: LET’S DRINK SOME JAZZ!" - https://thehatbar.de/our-story/ "Located beneath the S-Bahn arches, The Hat Bar enchants with its relaxed atmosphere, daily jam sessions, and excellent cocktails. The Hat Bar is located near the Zoologischer Garten and welcomes visitors in an intimate atmosphere. Tonmeistertagung 2025 - Connecting Audio Night - Mario Schönhofer (Ströme) - Synthesizer

#tmt33 #Tonmeistertagung #synthesizer "The get-together evenings at the Tonmeistertagung have been a tradition for many years. This year as well, the VDT invites you to a special evening event, the Connecting Audio Night, where exhibitors, tmt33 visitors and young professionals can intensively “connect” and exchange ideas. Dr. Thompson's Seifenfabrik provides the setting for 400 partygoers. Tickets are in high demand – if you want to attend, be sure to buy your ticket quickly in the ticket shop! By the way, there are also sponsorship packages available that not only include a ticket allocation, but also help us financially to make this party happen. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the VDT and the 33rd Tonmeistertagung. What better reason to celebrate? The Connecting Audio Night is the perfect place to do so. In addition to a few short, festive words, there will be good food and drink, lots of interesting people, and great music. As with the legendary VDT party at tmt31, where young and old danced to live electronic music, we have once again invited Mario Schönhofer (Ströme) to provide the musical entertainment." - https://tonmeistertagung.com/en/program/connecting-audio-night/ --- 📍 Location: https://guitars4rl-map.blogspot.com/ 🔗 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-sound-travels/ Enjoyed the video?

- https://fcs.mg.gov.br/evento/joao-bosco-boca-cheia-de-frutas/ --- 📍 Location: https://guitars4rl-map.blogspot.com/ 🔗 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-sound-travels/ Enjoyed the video? Birdland Jazz Club, New York City - Wednesday Night jazz: Frank Vignola’s Guitar Night

Birdland Jazz Club, New York City - Wednesday Night jazz: Frank Vignola’s Guitar Night in the Theater + Special Guest Henry Acker "BIRDLAND HISTORY Ever since most of Chicago’s top musicians moved to New York in the mid-to-late 1920s, New York City has been the Jazz Mecca. Nearly every major jazz style of the past seventy years has been initiated in the Big Apple. It was Charlie Parker, familiarly known to his fans and fellow musicians as “Bird,” a contraction of Yardbird, his formal nickname, who was the dynamic creative personality and genius of the alto saxophone who served as the inspiration for Birdland. The Early Days of Jazz in NYC When the original Birdland opened in December of 1949, Charlie Parker was the headliner and the club was located on Broadway, a block west of the 52nd Street scene, which was a hotbed of jazz in the 1930s and 40s. Miraculously, just as the scene on 52nd Street caved in, Birdland was born and quickly came to prominence. For the next fifteen years, the club’s survival formula was built upon memorable double and triple bills, commencing at 9 p.m. and sometimes lasting ’til dawn. In addition to Bird, many jazz legends were regulars at the club. Count Basie and his smokin’ big band made Birdland their New York headquarters, eventually recording George Shearing’s “Lullaby of Birdland” live at the club. John Coltrane’s classic Quartet regularly appeared at the club in the early 1960s, recording “Live at Birdland.” And the famous DJ, Symphony Sid Torin made a name for himself broadcasting live from the club to radio listeners up and down the eastern seaboard. ... Birdland’s booking history reads like a who’s who of jazz: Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Bud Powell, Stan Getz, Lester Young, Erroll Garner, and many, many others. Considering the excitement that Birdland generated on a daily basis, it’s no surprise that the club attracted its share of celebrities. Regulars to the nightly festivities included such household names as Gary Cooper, Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Joe Louis, Marlene Dietrich, Ava Gardner, Sammy Davis, Jr. and Sugar Ray Robinson. ... But as a new popular music, Rock & Roll emerged, Birdland’s fortunes declined in the 60’s and its doors were closed on Broadway and 52nd in 1965. After many 5 am nights, the club needed to take a nap. ... Now, half a century later, the Birdland banner has been reborn in midtown and called, “close to perfection for serious fans and musicians,” by The New York Times. After a decade of neighborhood success on the Upper West Side, John decided to move the club back to Midtown. The new Birdland offers top-flight jazz in a world class setting, good sight lines and acoustics, elbow room, and an award-winning menu featuring American cuisine with a Cajun flair. Modern Jazz in Manhattan Since the reemergence of the club, midtown Manhattan has been treated to some of the best jazz on the planet, including memorable sets by such musicians as Oscar Peterson, Pat Metheny, Diana Krall, Roy Haynes, Michel Legrand, Dave Brubeck, Pat Martino, Tony Williams, Hank Jones, Michel Petrucciani, Maynard Ferguson, Freddie Hubbard, Marian McPartland, John Pizzarelli, Kurt Elling, Joe Lovano, McCoy Tyner, Michael Brecker, Clark Terry, Ron Carter, Jon Hendricks, George Shearing, James Moody, Yellowjackets, John Scofield, Phoebe Snow, Dave Holland, and Tito Puente, as well as the big bands of Chico O’Farrill, Duke Ellington, Toshiko Akiyoshi, and Maria Schneider. In addition, Birdland is home to such popular musical events as the Umbria Jazz Festival in NYC and the Annual Django Reinhardt NY Festival. Over the past two decades, Birdland has expanded it’s musical outreach with the Broadway at Birdland concert series, shining a spotlight on Chita Rivera, Liza Minnelli, Michael Feinstein, Betty Buckley, Christine Ebersole, Barbara Cook, Ariana DeBose, Glenn Close, Melissa Manchester, and thousands more. Jim Caruso’s Cast Party, our weekly impromptu variety show, has helped make Birdland the late-night place to rub shoulders with show folk every Monday since 2004. And the 2018 addition of the state-of-the-art Birdland Theater has made it possible to include Broadway superstars, burlesque, comedy, cabaret divas, jazz legends and the most buzzed-about up-and-comers to our schedule. Since 1949, Birdland has established itself as an essential part of New York City culture and musical history." - https://birdlandjazz.com/history/ "It’s the best jazz guitar lover’s show in the world, celebrating all facets of the guitar in jazz. Frank Vignola’s virtuosity has made him the guitarist of choice for many of the world’s top musicians, including Ringo Starr, Madonna, Donald Fagen, Tommy Emmanuel, the Boston and New York Pops, and more.." - https://birdlandjazz.com/event/frank-vignolas-guitar-night-in-the-theater-6/ #jazz #newyork #jazzclub

Deep-learning based prediction of Energy Decay Curves and Room Impulse Response reconstruction

#roomimpulseresponse #acoustics #signalprocessing Deep-learning based prediction of Energy Decay Curves (EDCs) and Room Impulse Response (RIR) reconstruction - Dr. Imran Muhammad 🔊 New Series Announcement | Audio Technology, Acoustics & Music Research The BRICS+ Audio, Acoustics & Music Tech Group, in cooperation with The Sound Travels YouTube channel, is launching a new video series dedicated to showcasing research in audio technology, acoustics, and music technology. This initiative aims to amplify the voices of scientists, engineers, and researchers; particularly from BRICS+ countries and the wider Global South, including Africa, Latin America, and Asia; whose work in sound, audio, and music-related technologies is shaping innovation but remains underrepresented in global platforms. 🎧 Focus areas include (but are not limited to): • Audio signal processing • Architectural and environmental acoustics • Music technology and digital instruments • Psychoacoustics and perception • Sound studies and emerging audio technologies 🎥 What the series offers: • Short, accessible presentations of ongoing or completed research • A platform to share ideas with a global, interdisciplinary audience • Visibility for research addressing local and global sonic challenges Researchers at all career stages are welcome. If you are interested in participating;or know someone whose work should be featured; we invite you to get in touch: leave a comment or DM us. Let’s connect sound, science, and innovation across the Global South and beyond. --- Abstract: This work proposes a neural network framework for efficient room impulse response (RIR) prediction by estimating energy decay curves (EDCs) from room geometry, material absorption, and source–receiver positions, followed by RIR reconstruction via reverse-differentiation. Trained on large-scale simulated datasets with realistic acoustic conditions, the method achieves high accuracy in objective metrics and shows no perceptual differences from reference RIRs in MUSHRA listening tests. The results demonstrate a fast, accurate, and perceptually reliable alternative to conventional room acoustic simulation methods for immersive audio applications. Inside the Estates Theatre with Backstage Access, Prague, Czech Republic - Stavovské Divadlo

"This magnificent theatre building from 1783 was built in the classical style and is still preserved in nearly original condition. The theatre’s history is inseparable from the musical talent of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart — in particular with the world premiere of his opera Don Giovanni, which is still included in the repertoire. The Estates Theatre is part of the National Theatre, and is the scene for drama, opera and ballet." - https://lnkd.in/dXCTwJbp "Estates Theatre, New Sound System At the Estates Theater, we designed and later installed new power sound systems, including the cable distribution and cable infrastructure. - We replaced the original static sound system placed in the boxes with movable loudspeakers suspended on winding point directly in the stage portal. As a result, the user has greater variability for the needs of individual performances. - We designed the sound system so that its installation is as sensitive as possible to the interior of the theater. - The design was based on simulations on a 3D acoustic model and we chose the LCR configuration supplemented with a subbass loudspeaker for even coverage of the auditorium with the acoustic signal. - All of the elements used were custom made by a manufacturer so that their color exactly matched the color of the stage canopy. " - AVT Group a.s. , https://lnkd.in/dCNqKNe4 "The building was realized in a Classicist style according to a project of architect Antonín Haffenecker, and together with the theatre in Leoven in Styria it is the only building in Europe preserved in nearly original state. The main front with a pair of pillars and high, half-round vaulted windows were probably realized in French Classicism. ... Modern reconstruction took place in the years 1973—1974, and the last general reconstruction in 1983—1991 according to a project of architect Ivan Skála and Svatopluk Zeman. The original foundations of the building were reinforced, the enclosure walls were strengthened, the paintings on the auditorium and forestage ceilings were restored; the balcony parapets revealed surprising decorations made of paper-mache, used probably due to its light weight, as the auditorium’s enclosure walls are mostly made of wood and also the dome supporting the ceiling is made of wood. It was recommended not to replace any materials in order to preserve the excellent acoustics. A copy of the original chandelier from 1874 was made and installed, which was partially powered by gas. There are 148 light bulbs on the new chandelier, which weighs approx. 800 kg. After the reconstruction, there are 659 seating places and 20—40 standing places available in the Estates Theatre." - https://lnkd.in/dXCTwJbp hashtag#acoustics hashtag#architecture hashtag#soundsystem hashtag#audio hashtag#proaudio hashtag#audioengineering hashtag#signalprocessing hashtag#immersiveaudio hashtag#spatialaudio hashtag#sounddesign --- 📍 Location: https://guitars4rl-map.blogspot.com/ 🔗 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-sound-travels/ Enjoyed the video?
